Excellent text for novices!

I'm new to ceramics, and I was seeking a good, easy to read text that would introduce me to the terms used and basic methods employed with this art form. I don't have time to take college courses, so finding good books on the subject was important to me. I found this book to be particularly helpful, because the authors assume the reader has little or no prior knowledge. Many terms that I've heard before but did not understand were carefully explained and the various processes used to make, fire and glaze pottery were introduced in such a way that a beginner can easily understand them. I now feel much more confident about delving into ceramics and I'm looking forward to reading more books on this subject.

This book seems like a pretty decent basic introduction. Even has instructions for digging, cleaning, drying, and reconstituting your own clay.
