Jeff Johnson is an award-winning journalist, communications specialist, and thought leader. He is partner and Chief of Strategy for the Baltimore-based branding firm Illume Communications. A former BET host and producer, and an MSNBC contributor, Jeff also served as National Director for the Youth & College Division of the NAACP and contributing writer with Steve Harvey on the New York Times best-seller Act Like A Success, Think Like A Success. He currently provides regular content on TheRoot.com and the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show. He is based in Baltimore, Maryland; is the honored husband of Jacqueline; and is the proud father of Madison, Myles, and Malcolm.

One of best self help books over the past few years

Jeff Johnson transformed from a upstart National Youth Director for the NAACP to become one of the most well-known and respected leaders of this generation. In this book Jeff does an excellent job challenging people how to overcome their biggest nemesis. THEMSELVES! Johnson doesn't give hyperbole, but rather provides readers with learning lessons from his own experiences and shares with them how they can re-examine and improve themselves.
Johnson's book is inspirational, challenging, and refreshing. It is one of the very few self-help books over the last several years that offers something new to the genre.

Provocative & Necessary

Jeff Johnson's debut title is both transparent, provocative & necessary no matter your age or stage in life. It offers practical advice on how to discover & then live your personal best life.
In a raw and honest way, Jeff lends his voice to the experiences in life we all have gone through or know someone who has. As we face a nation of ecomonic hardship people are having to reexamine & redefine what they want in life, who they are and who they are not and walk into new roles & review current roles. Jeff offers real, practical steps. For a first-time author he has the hiccups at times in structure but overall this book can help you or a friend.
Grab yourself a copy & a copy for a friend or dstranger. Take notes, it will help you throughout your life journey to reaching your personal best. It did for me! And that's the truth.

It was a pleasure

Just met Jeff Johnson walking into the CNN Building in Atlanta. Had a brief talk with him and decided to pick the book up. He's a very knowledgeable inspiring brother. Well spoken and humble. It was a pleasure to meet him up close & personal. I decided to read the first few pages walking back to where I parked and I am thoroughly impressed with the book. As a fellow reader who delves into Non-Fiction / Inspirational / Self help type books. I'm quite sure I can learn some things from Jeff's writings. My short personal interaction with him along with seeing how he conducts himself on camera and around ATL definitely prompted me to pick it up. So far, not disappointed..
