Unfortuntately it didn't work for me
By Christina
Becs has spent the major part of her life in the foster care system and at the age of eighteen is working a job and trying to better herself. If her constant worries about money weren’t bad enough, she feels obligated to look after her older foster brother that is heavily involved in drugs. When she loses her job for reasons she’s not entirely clear, she takes her complain to Bray Spencer, the owner of the building that houses the coffee shop she worked for.

Bray Spencer is a billionaire recluse that refuses to get involved with the opposite sex due to the unhealthy relationship of his parents. But over the course of a couple of months he becomes enamored with Becs, the colorful pixie, as he calls her. When she storms into his office demanding answers about her job, Bray finally has the opportunity to insert himself into her life.

Bray takes her on his live in housekeeper/cook/assistant and eventually his lover. As their relationship gets out, it seems there are forces working from all sides in order to break them up. Will Bray end up just like his father and destroy the one thing he loves most? Will Becs ever be able to trust anyone? Or feel like she won’t be left behind, yet again?

Maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s the volume of books I read but I’m finding it harder and harder to suspend disbelief. In the Romance genre there definitely needs to be some bending of timelines, belief, etc., but this book was way over the top. The man is in his mid-30s and is a virgin, who quickly becomes a sex god. He’s obsessed with an eighteen year old in a way that makes Christian Grey look like the best boyfriend in the world (like desperately wanting her to get pregnant so she can’t leave). He’s an investor that has paparazzi stalking him. There is just so much going on in the story without any real storyline, other than once they get it on, they do it a lot.

I had picked this one up because the synopsis looked good and there was a lot of chatter about it in the book world, but it just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t connect with the characters and the storyline was kind of all over. This was my first book by this author but I would still check out some of her other work. If you’re looking for a hot, fast paced read, this one might be for you.

4.5 scorching stars
By LBAS Book Blog
Let me start by saying this is my favorite book from this author. She wrote one scorching hot story. It’s a wonder my phone didn’t catch fire. She’s an author who writes really sexy virgin stories but delivering a story where both main characters were virgins? Now, that’s a stroke of genius and she totally delivered.

Rebecca and Bray are such opposites. Bray is order and Rebecca is chaos. I love using that word to describe her because she totally messed up Bray’s ordered life. I just loved the two of them right from the first page. I totally understood their issues and conflicts, Bray’s especially. He dealt with his problems the way I expected him to and in that respect he was perfection. Rebecca’s sassy attitude covered for her insecurities but with a past like hers it is also understandable.

As I said I loved this story from the start but there were parts of the plot that threw me off my enjoyment about three-quarters of the way in. First was a jump in the timeline and then characters I expected to have their act together behaved unexpectedly putting gaps in the plot. I’m not going to give you spoilers. You’ll have to read the book to make up your own mind. In any case, I definitely recommend this one. If you’ve never read Alexa Riley, you should start with this one. A great read.

Totally refreshing new storyline
By Brittany's Book Blog
Rebecca is a feisty girl who takes no crap from anyone and isn't afraid to show how she is to anybody. You either like her or you don't and she really could care less what anyone thinks of her. She finds herself attracted to Bray the sexy billionaire but she has no idea who he is until she storms into his office after getting fired and demanding that he get her her job back or find her a new one.

Bray can't seem to get Rebecca off his mind and he finds her sexy and attractive. When he gets to meet her, he finds her feistiness a turn on and he likes it. Although Bray is kind of a control and neat freak and likes things done a certain way and he finds himself always going by a set schedule that he follows routinely.

Bray finds himself offering Rebecca to work for him, he has no idea why he did that, but he finds that he wants Rebecca in his life one way or another. He feels like he needs to protect her and his overly possessive of her as well.

When Rebecca finally gets a peak at how Bray lives she wants to cause chaos in his life and see how much she can push his buttons. Little does she know that even though he is a man that abides by his rules, he likes that Rebecca has entered his life and caused all kinds of chaos and he is surprised at himself that it doesn't seem to bother him. He loves everything about her, her rudeness, her spunky pink and purple hair and her loud mouth.

But as they start building a relationship, they start exploring with each other they start finding out how good it feels and how they like what they're doing to each other. Bray has been a virgin for 32 years because he's always been afraid he would turn out to be like his father and that's the last thing he wanted to do. He would never, ever hurt a woman and he was afraid that because he was such a control freak, he would turn out to be like his father. He tries to keep Rebecca sheltered and she finds that she doesn't like that. She rebels a little and gets hurt because he doesn't want to show her to the world and she thinks he's embarrassed by her. Little does she know that that is not the reasons he doesn't want her exposed to the world. He has his reasons why he doesn't want anyone knowing about her or knowing her.

I haven't read a novel about two virgins together before, this is the first and I have to say it was a bit refreshing as the story was a bit different. Although Bray was a dominant alpha male, he was also very tender, loving and caring. I loved everything about this story, it was a love story with some suspense and a little action involved. Rebecca was very courageous and I loved her sassiness, she sometimes liked to take control in the bedroom and I found that very sexy about her -- in control over a sexy as hell dominant man. AND let's not forget those sexy, dirty, mouthwatering love scenes involved in this book that will leave you wishing you had an extra pair of panties next to you ;)
