if I had access to the right materials it wouldn't be like this.

I borrowed this book so I only had a go through the first chapter. By the way, the supplement exercises' websites are all dead in regards to this book so don't bother searching for them.
Some of the answers given in the the snapshots weren't elaborate enough OR the previous definitions given before the exercise didn`t explain correctly.
e.g. This is the part of the book that talked about what Mixtures are:
Mixtures are physical combinations of substances that have properties related to those of their components but that do not have definite compositions.
And it stops there.
In the next two pages, the author gives this exercise
Classify each of the following statements as true or false:
(a) Every mixture contains two or more free elements.
Answer:
(a) False (They may contain compounds and only one or no free elements.)
There wasn't even any information concerning what ''free elements'' before, or anything in regards how compounds/elements relate to mixtures. How am I suppose to answer that question(well, if I had access to the right materials it wouldn't be like this...)?
The lack of visuals and the hazy definitions given for homogeneous/heterogeneous mixtures:
heterogeneous mixtures: A physical combination of substances having distinguishable parts.
homogeneous mixtures: A physical combination of substances whose parts are not distinguishable, even with the best optical microscope; a solution.
WOAH THERE, ''able to distinguish'' through the best microscope, I don't think that it's an idea people can relate to if they don't have a microscope.
Just to double-check, the definitions that I found elsewhere on other books/google go along the words of
heterogeneous: non-equally distributed particles(molecules)
homogeneous: equally distributed particles(molecules)
While other books I read for that part all had helpful illustrations and diagrams, this one doesn't. The amount of text overshadows everything and it doesn't give the definitions of the key terms on the same page of the book but in the END OF THE BOOK(glossary). It's a pain using something where everytime it supposedly teaches you a new word then you'll have to flip all along the way. Not convenient at all.
